THE ANCIENT ARABIC ORDER OF NOBLES OF THE MYSTIC SHRINE was founded in the United States in 1872. It makes claim to traditions of great antiquity, and is, in its make-up, among the swankiest of fraternal organizations. Although not actually a Masonic order, only thirty-second-degree Masons, or Knights Templar, can belong to it. While many Shriners do not take their seventh-century origins too seriously, others do, at least to the extent of occasionally luxuriating in the land of the Nile. Here are four Shriners, with the pyramids of Gizeh behind them. It would be interesting to know what they are singing. Is it some esoteric Shrine hymn? Or is it-could it possibly be
